A limited number of sliding-scale scholarships are available to students from lower-income backgrounds. In order to qualify for a sliding scale scholarship, you must contact us and request consideration, and then be able to show that your household presently falls within 225% of the 2023 Federal Poverty Guidelines, outlined here.

Please note, PHDTUTORING.NET sliding-scale scholarships can only be applied to monthly or quarterly tutoring contracts, not to pay-as-you-go tutoring sessions.

The scale is as follows:

At 225% of FPG: 25% scholarship

At 200% of FPG: 35% scholarship

At 175% of FPG: 45% scholarship

At 150% of FPG: 55% scholarship

At 133% of FPG: 65% scholarship

At 125% of FPG: 75% scholarship (maximum)

A union discount can be applied in addition to your sliding scale scholarship.
